Providing an outstanding base for skiing and snowboarding that could be compared with those in Europe's most well-known mountain resorts, there are more than 17 kilometres of alpine tracks, from light to very difficult, 34 kilometres of long-distance running tracks, 13 tows and 5 chair-lifts which can serve no less than 8,500 people per hour.  The latest sports equipment is available for rent and the ski teachers here are multilingual and highly professional.  After just a few lessons, you'll be confident and able to conquer at least some of the tracks.  A strong emphasis is placed on safety, with a mountain rescue service working 24 hours a day.

In the summer, thousands of tourists come here to escape from the heat, crowds and polluted city air, enjoying the freshness of the mountain and the pleasant, sunny weather.  Pamporovo offers tranquillity and seclusion; unlike other high-class mountain resorts, it is compact, well-organised and not packed with tourists.  For your convenience, there are plenty of supermarkets, souvenir shops, etc. but if you still wish to go downtown, either for a shopping tour or a night out, the city of Plovdiv, Bulgaria's second-largest and perhaps most fascinating, is just an hour's drive away.  There are also frequent bus connections.

The restaurants in Pamporovo offer a fabulous dining experience with delicious Rhodopean meals, in most cases very similar to home-made food, served in a cosy family-like atmosphere, often accompanied by live music.
